Parker's 2026 fireworks show is on the calendar again. The town called off its July 4 display after Stage 2 fire restrictions took effect on July 2. The show now launches Wednesday, Nov. 11, at 7 p.m. from just northeast of Salisbury Park, weather permitting.
That date changes the shape of the season. Downtown Parker's holiday events usually start with the tree lighting on Thanksgiving weekend. This year the first big evening comes 16 days earlier. Between now and Dec. 20, the Town of Parker, Parker Arts and the Downtown Parker Holiday Market have filled almost every weekend. A handful of businesses that opened over the summer and fall on S. Pikes Peak Drive and Mainstreet will be open for the stretch.
The show that waited out summer
Douglas County's July 2 announcement put Stage 2 restrictions in place and banned fireworks, including professional displays. That took Parker's Independence Day show off the schedule two days before it was due. The town's own event notice explained the decision this way:
"While we share the community's disappointment in not celebrating our nation's 250th birthday with fireworks, public safety remains our top priority."
The town's October 2026 newsletter describes the rescheduled show as an evening to honor those who have served and to mark a milestone year for the United States, Colorado and Parker. Viewing locations and display details are posted at ParkerCO.gov/VeteransDay. The plan that went out in June was written for the July date, so the Veterans Day page is the one to go by for parking and viewing spots.
There is one practical difference from July. A 7 p.m. launch in mid-November means full dark and cold. You won't be waiting on a summer sunset, but you will want layers rather than a picnic blanket.
What opened on S. Pikes Peak Drive while the fireworks waited
The stretch of S. Pikes Peak Drive just off Mainstreet has changed more since July than almost any other part of downtown. Two openings, about a block apart in address, now sit within walking distance of the area where the holiday events happen.
JP Cocina & Cantina took over the old Wild Goose Saloon building at 11160 S. Pikes Peak Drive. It's on the stretch between Mainstreet and Hilltop, by Best Buy. It soft-opened Aug. 17, and DougCo Social covered the Aug. 19 grand opening, where owner Jose Poblano cut the ribbon to a mariachi band. Chef Fernando Ortiz runs the kitchen. Many Parker residents already know Poblano's food. According to the same DougCo Social report, he started El Poblano Mexican Eats as a food truck in March 2021. It's now a truck and covered outdoor stand at 11321 Dransfeldt Road, and he also runs The Perfect Time Cafe at 10471 S. Parker Road. The cantina is his third and largest spot.
The Gathering Yard is a community food truck and vendor yard at 11023 S. Pikes Peak Drive. It's tucked behind the main building on its lot, so follow the signs. DougCo Social reported that it began a Friday-through-Sunday soft opening on Oct. 1. Parking is on the street or in one of Parker's public lots. The trucks rotate and set daily hours haven't been posted yet. The yard's event calendar and Instagram show who is serving on a given day.
The yard's Grand Opening + Fall Festival is Friday, Oct. 30, from 5 to 8 p.m., with food trucks and local vendors. The yard's plan-your-visit page lists that event but has no November or December schedule yet. Whether an outdoor food truck yard keeps weekend hours into December is still an open question.
Mainstreet heads into the holidays partly under construction
Mainstreet itself will look a little unfinished through the holiday weekends. The Juniper building, at 19865 Mainstreet, shows that best.
- Nova Glow Studio is open. It held its grand opening Oct. 10 and started a limited soft opening Oct. 12 in Suite 110, according to DougCo Social.
- Cask & Trotter, a restaurant in Unit 150 of the same building, was still under construction when its sign was photographed Oct. 10. DougCo Social's latest update puts the estimated opening at the end of 2026, with no firm date.
- SuBourbon on Main, a whiskey bar and restaurant at 19590 Mainstreet, Suite 101, is going into the former Chamber building. An Oct. 10 update from DougCo Social said construction delays may push its opening to around the new year.
A little farther along, Goods and Grace opened at 17002 E. Mainstreet earlier this summer, according to the Parker Chronicle.
So the downtown that hosts this year's holiday weekends will have one new storefront open in The Juniper and two more still behind construction fencing. For anyone planning a December evening on Mainstreet, Cask & Trotter and SuBourbon are best treated as next year's additions unless they announce firm dates.
Veterans Day to Dec. 20 on one calendar
The fireworks are the first in a run of dated events. Here is everything with a confirmed 2026 date between Veterans Day and Dec. 20.

Venue and ticket details for the shows marked "Parker Arts listing" are on the Parker Arts calendar. The PACE Center on Pikes Peak Avenue is a different street from the S. Pikes Peak Drive addresses above, which matters if you're typing one into a map app.
At the Mayor's Holiday Lighting, the Mayor, Town Council and the Parker Chorale lead the tree lighting and a sing-along. The Hometown Holiday Experience runs Saturdays and Sundays from Nov. 28 through Dec. 20. This year's décor theme is "Parker Through the Decades," with holiday music, themed decorations and seasonal displays along a stroll from Mainstreet to Discovery Park. The Town's Hometown Holidays page lists it as free. The Downtown Parker Holiday Market on Dec. 5 lists 100-plus vendors, plus food trucks and community activities.
Dec. 5 is the busiest day of the season. The market, a Hometown Holiday weekend and both performances of A Classic Parker Holiday all fall on it. That show is already sold out. Anyone hoping to catch FROST or a weekend performance of White Christmas will want to book earlier than they might for a normal December.
Still unscheduled
A few things a longtime resident might expect aren't on the calendar yet. The Town's event calendar has no 2026 listing for the Christmas Carriage Parade, and the only entry under that name dates to 2015. Hours for the Hometown Holiday weekends haven't been published beyond the "All Day" placeholder. The Gathering Yard hasn't posted a winter schedule, and the two Juniper and Mainstreet restaurants still have estimates rather than opening dates.
The firm dates start with Nov. 11. In a year when downtown's biggest summer evening moved to November, the Veterans Day show is where Parker's season begins. Check ParkerCO.gov/VeteransDay the afternoon of the show for any weather update.
